Sources of bibliographic metadata used to produce national bibliography Most data is created in-house and through the CIP programme. Some are derived from other libraries via Union Catalogue, a subset of Amicus.
Relationship to national legal deposit legislation or voluntary deposit arrangements Legal deposit is the means by which a comprehensive national library collection is gathered as a record of Canada’s published heritage. Legal deposit applies to all publishers in Canada with some exclusions. Older materials not initially acquired through legal deposit are purchased from book dealers, antiquarians and other sources and are also obtained as gifts. 
Relationship to national Cataloguing in Publication (CIP) programme Library and Archives Canada co-ordinates the CIP programme. Its records are included in Canadiana.

Canadiana is available as an online service and via FTP.  No other formats exist since 2007.

Canadiana records are available via FTP and MRDS (MARC Records Distribution Service).
The LAC catalogue and national bibliography moved to Aurora in late 2018.

Pricing policy for national bibliographic services The LAC catalogue and national bibliography will move to a new host system in late 2018, and this will affect the pricing policy.
