The three-phase launch took place in Makhanda, in the Eastern Cape Province, which is home to the South African Library for the Blind’s Head Quarters under this year’s theme “Libraries Foster Social Cohesion”. Librarians from the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) headquarters recently completed a study program in managing, developing and understanding Integrated Library Systems using various open-source software like; DSpace, KOHA and Linux.  This took place at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Chennai, India. On Friday 15th March 2024, some members of the management, staff and students of the East African School of Library and Information Science, joined the rest of the Uganda in celebrating the national DEAR Day (Drop Everything and Read Day).
