Division: Support of the Profession

The Section was formed as the Round Table on Management. A growing interest in marketing resulted in the IFLA Professional Board establishing a new Section on Management and Marketing in 1997. The interest in the Section was evident when over 70 members joined at the start of 1998. New members are always welcome, and encouraged to participate in the work of the Section whether or not they are able to attend the IFLA conferences. Much of the work of the Section is done by email in addition to postal services and now via this website.

Management & Marketing Section joins the Coaching Initiative

During IFLA WLIC 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, the IFLA Section CPDWL hosted an open ses-sion with career and professional development coaching for the individual. The set up was a drop-in session where the participants could choose between a variety of coaching areas, i.e. Lifelong learning, IFLA structure and organisation, Professional reorientation, General management skills, Leadership or Health management. All WLIC delegates were welcome to join the coaching session, and 79 participants attended the programme.
