Reflections from the Leipzig Bookfair

Gerald Leitner, member of the IFLA Governing Board and the ELending Working Group, spoke at the Leipzig Bookfair about the challenges faced by libraries with regards to EBooks.

He answered questions concerning the future of libraries in a world where Google is becoming the biggest online library, as well as highlighting the need in change in copyright in order to guarantee libraries a place in this new age. Furthermore he addressed the market share of Amazon.com in this world and the effect this has on libraries.
