IFLA International Leaders Programme: new cohort selected

To lead, to advocate and to motivate; IFLA involves individuals around the world whose leadership and expertise are called on to represent the wider library sector in the international arena. In 2016 a new cohort for the IFLA International Leaders Programme has been selected. With a large number of excellent applications, competition was very strong, making the final choice a difficult task for the selection panel. The nine Associates represent all of IFLA’s regions with individuals from Europe, North America, Africa, Asia & Oceania and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Associates will come together in Columbus with the IFLA Congress providing a dynamic and interactive environment for the programme. Through a series of seminars, sessions and meetings with international leaders and professional committees, the programme aims to develop each Associate’s understanding and experience to be able to work at the international level on key issues impacting the library sector. Continuing until 2018, the Associates will have opportunities to gain experience, develop their capacity to advocate and build relationships and networks internationally. The Associates will be presented at the IFLA Congress in Columbus in August.

The names of the nine Associates will be released shortly.
