The UNESCO PERSIST Project, an initiative founded to implement parts of the UNESCO/UBC Vancouver Declaration to ensure the long-term, sustainable access and survival of digital heritage, is holding a workshop to define the scope and objectives of the Content and Best Practises working group. The Content working group has finalised its first goal when launching the Guidelines for the selection of digital heritage for long-term preservation in March 2016. Following this launch, it became apparent that there are many outstanding issues to be addressed by a Content and Best Practises working group within the UNESCO PERSIST Project.

The current aim of Content and Best Practises working group is to identify existing and emerging needs of digital preservation practitioners and how these can be best addressed at the local, national and international levels.
