Three IFLA Global Vision Regional Workshops have taken place so far in United States (for North America), Cameroon (for Africa) and Egypt (for the Middle East and North Africa [MENA] region) …but this is just getting started! IFLA’s Global Vision journey continues now on to the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region.

During the Regional Workshop in Egypt on 21-22 May, MENA library representatives from 17 countries gathered in lively discussions about how a united library field can tackle to challenges of the future.

Next stop: Buenos Aires, Argentina!

To continue with what has now become a Global Vision tradition, the MENA region colleagues asked IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner to forward the following greetings and inspired advice to the colleagues in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, thereby passing the torch of IFLA’s Global Vision Discussion from MENA to Latin America and the Caribbean:

We encourage you, colleagues in Buenos Aires to join the IFLA family!

The next IFLA Global Vision Regional Workshop will take place from 8-9 June 2017 at the Library of the National Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We look forward to continuing this Global Vision journey in the Latin America and the Caribbean region!
