Rome City Libraries, in collaboration with the Italian Library Association (AIB), Lazio regional chapter, organizes a screening of the 17 short films selected to compete for the IFLA Metropolitan Libraries Short Film Award 2017.

The film screening will be introduced by Chiara De Vecchis (AIB Sezione Lazio), and by Corrado Di Tillio (IFLA Section on Metropolitan Libraries). Giovanna Scatena, author of the winning film, will be present for a short Q&A.

The short films, although different in format, show what a public library is today in various parts of the world. The titles are:

The films (total length: about 70 mins.) have English subtitles.

The film screening will be introduced by the trailer of Ex Libris – The New York Library by Frederick Wiseman, presented at the 74th Venice International Film Festival and scheduled to be projected in Italian cinemas in April 23-25.
