Russian Library Association renews its strategic plan and Code of Ethics with IFLA ALP support

Association Profile

The Russian Library Association (RLA), together with the  LTD Center for the Book, are carrying out a project to create a new version of the RLA strategic plan and code of ethics. The Project will help Russian librarians to develop their Association in accordance with the experiences and good practices from around the world.

Project Goals

The project includes:

Developing Strategic Relationships: Partnerships and Fundraising workshop

Workshop utilising Building Strong Library Associations materials will be delivered at RLA workshop for the RLA officers and regional library institutions leaders, the Heads of the RLA Sections and Round Tables.

The workshop will help to improve their professional skills and to learn developing and maintaining strategic partnerships.

Presentation of project results

The project results will be performed at the RLA Conference in May 2011 in the "Library Capital of Russia 2011", Tuymen. Project results will be published in professional periodicals, RLA web site and discussed with public authorities.

Project results will contribute to the creation of a new strategic plan and code of professional ethics for RLA. The project will also produce recommendations on establishing professional library institutions in regions of the Russian Federation.
