Publishers and libraries have long, together, helped to ensure the flow of ideas and knowledge from writers to readers. Yet with new technologies and new patterns of creativity an consumption, both are facing important questions and challenges.

This conference, organised at the Library of Alexandria, will look at the situation of the publishing economy of Arabic-speaking countries, building an understanding both of the issues faced, and the responses being made.

IFLA will be represented by Stephen Wyber, Manager, Policy and Advocacy. You can download the IFLA intervention as a pdf. Find our more about the conference.
