Dear colleagues,

We are so happy to provide an opportunity for new librarians from outside North America (U.S. and Canada) to attend the IFLA 2016 Congress in Columbus, Ohio. I would like to encourage you to apply soon!

This is a great time for new professionals to engage with IFLA. Some of you may know that I attended my first IFLA Congress in 2004 in Buenos Aires with a grant for new librarians. It was there where I co-established IFLA New Professionals with another two colleagues. I was selected as one of the 30 fellows for the “Fellowship for the Americas’ program, sponsored by the IFLA 2001 National Organizing Committee.

This time, there are available up to 50 fellowships. This means that any of you could be selected to receive a grant! So, start writing your applications today (applications can be submitted in English, Spanish or French).
