Theme:
Advancing UNIMARC: alignment and innovation
The recent completion of RDA – Resource Description and Access, the ISBD consolidated edition and developments regarding the implementation of the FRBR model are at the forefront of novel concerns for bibliographic data management with implications for standards such as UNIMARC. In the same line are the demands and requirements for having UNIMARC data enabled as linked data to foster its value in the context of the Semantic Web. This session will focus on the alignment of UNIMARC with other bibliographic standards and trends in innovative networked applications. Contributions are invited that provide reflections or experiences on topics such as:
- UNIMARC data modeling and FRBR
- UNIMARC alignment with new ISBD provisions such as Area 0
- Experiences with UNIMARC data shared services
- Innovative implementations using UNIMARC in the Web environment
- Features and functionalities thought by UNIMARC professional users
